WCF Foundation Original Research

Since its inception, WCF Foundation has stewarded groundbreaking research programs such as Vote With Your Purse and Unlocking the Cabinet, aimed at increasing female leadership, garnering attention from the likes of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and many others.

Vote with Your Purse revealed that although women give the majority of charitable dollars in this country, they give far less than men politically. Despite Hillary Clinton’s historic run for President in 2008, women’s overall political giving remains unchanged. explored the ways women are under-represented in appointed positions in state government; why it matters; and how to reach gender parity in state cabinets.

WCF is currently conducting new research on topics such as women candidates' performance in debates and a joint study with American University and author Jennifer Lawless to determine the best language to ask a woman to run for office.
